Back to school, back into action.

By Rachel Heard, Schools Program Blogger

Welcome to Educating for Change, Oxfam’s brand new Schools Program blog. You might remember us as Educators shaping change. Sorry it’s been so long. We’ve taken some time off for soul-searching, had a little work done, and we’re back better than ever.

Our new blog is an exciting online platform for teachers and students to help bring social justice into their classrooms. We’ll be showcasing the work of schools around the nation, discussing ideas and activities, and providing you with updated information about Oxfam’s Schools Program, including a bit of behind-the-scenes action.

For educators, there will be plenty of inspiration for creative ideas to engage students, information on Oxfam’s current projects and educational resources, and info on opportunities for professional development.

For students, there are chances to show off those creative skills and write for us – email us your suggestions! We’d love to get you published. Plus there will be plenty of information on issues spanning the local to the global, and how young people can make a real and positive impact on the world.

We’d love Educating for Change to be the hub of a new community. If you are proud of some great work that’s being done at your school in partnership with Oxfam Australia, or have ideas on what you’d like to see on the blog — comment below or let us know. Together, we are the power of people against poverty.
