All hands to the pump

It’s a race against time to get water equipment constructed before refugees arrive in a new camp near Dolo Ad, a village in the far south of Ethiopia, not far from the Somali border.

In recent months, the population of the area has tripled from 40,000 to 120,000 and continues to grow daily. as people seek relief from the famine and conflict that grips an ever larger part of Somalia.

Oxfam is providing water, sanitation and public health promotion in the camp.
